Why Uzbekistan, why now
A country of falling water
Uzbekistan uses barely a quarter of its 27.5 TWh annual hydropower potential. The national programme targets 40% renewable electricity by 2030 — and thousands of kilometres of irrigation canals are exactly where low-head turbines earn their keep.
